Hello, Spring.

Today, March 20, 2026, the Earth has reached that celestial tripwire we call the Vernal Equinox. And the world stands in a rare state of grace -- balanced between the shadows of winter and the encroaching gold of summer.   It is the official "Grand Opening" of Spring, and frankly, it couldn’t have come a moment sooner. In two other Carl Kruse Blogs I also celebrate the arrival of Spring -  see Ah, Spring and Spring Arrives .  Anyway...   Philosophically speaking, the Equinox is the universe’s way of hitting the "Refresh" button. For a few brief hours, day and night stop their bickering and agree to share the room equally. It’s a moment of symmetry, a stillness before the riot begins.   But while the astronomers focus on axial tilts and solar declination, the rest of us are focused on something more visceral: The Thaw.
